Press Release February 2005

Consolidated Computer Services and Aqualift announces:

“A Revolution in Fluid Inspection Software”.

Currently Tracking data for Reservoirs and Aqueducts around Australia.

By working Closely with Aqualift Pty Ltd, CCS was able to develop a simple to use data management tool to record hundreds of data points about each asset.

Each data points importance varies depending on the state of related points within that asset, and the assets position within the clients group.

By examining benchmarks and status ratings of pertinent areas (set by skilled technicians) ASAM presents the data points as information, empowering the users to make informed decisions as to the maintenance requirements.

Storing a history of these actions allows for comparisons to be made, to determine the likely success or failure of a maintnenance technique, based on factual data, without the usual weeks of research through invoices and receipts.

ASAM is not a database application; it is a data management tool!

The tool is operated as follows:

  • Skilled technicians inspect various potable water supplies and insert data into the system using Windows based laptops.
  • Regular data updates to the local MS SQL Server / MSDE Databases present the city/ shire councils with up to date details of their assets.
  • Council staff view/ query the data and produce reports using Windows based personal computers.
  • Based on the holistic view provided, work orders for maintenance can be raised, addressing the most serious issues first.
  • As maintenance is performed by the technicians, updates to the data are inserted into the system
  • In turn regular data updates present the city/ shire councils with an accurate view of their assets.
Additional Modules such as ASAM Overview allow the user, to view graphically, the state of hundreds of reservoirs quickly and easily.

Web based Modules such as ASAM Live present a read only view of this data to selected clients.

Technical Details

ASAM is designed for Microsoft Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Professional and Server/ XP Professional and Windows 2003 Server

ASAM requires access to a MS SQL Server 2000 /MSDE2000 Database.

ASAM was developed with Microsoft Technologies (Visual Studio)

Network installations of ASAM are available, to allow multiple PC’s to utilise a common Database.

The Future

The new version of ASAM Live is currently being developed using Visual Studio .NET (ASP.NET, C#) taking advantage of the new XML capabilities of MS SQL Server 2005 database, and will be available (this year) over the Internet.

Using Thin Client technologies and centrally storing the data will allow faster updates to be provided to clients, as technicians can update the data on the live site remotely via their Windows based laptops, Pocket PCs and Smartphones.

Internet connectivity will allow for use with handheld devices to display pertinent sections of ASAM suitable for use “on site”.
